About Amy

Hello, my name is Amy and I run mindful-being offering mindfulness and compassion training, coaching and reiki. I have worked within the field of personal and group development for over 25 years. I began my career in Community Development and worked in a range of settings supporting young people, adults and groups to grow skills and confidence and increase influence over their personal and group circumstances. Over the years in my roles as manager, project leader, facilitator and coach. I am most driven and motivated by nurturing the development and growth of clients and team members.

I started my training with the Mindfulness Association in 2012 and became a qualified Mindfulness trainer in 2018 and qualified compassion trainer in 2020. I have worked in the UK and in Asia as a mindfulness trainer. Whilst living in Asia I undertook coaching training with Teamup a mindfulness based coaching organisation and followed this with an  ILM UK coaching and mentoring training qualification.

I work both in groups and in 1:1 settings, both approaches have their own richness and depth which can come from the wisdom and collective experience in the group or the depth that can be built through the 1:1 dynamic.

I became aware of mindfulness as a path through chatting with a friend who was undertaking the Mindfulness studies program with Aberdeen University and was immediately inspired by the opportunity to study mindfulness. So much so I applied and was accepted the following year.

Learning how to practice and teach mindfulness and compassion programs has been transformational for me, these are practices which guide me in my day to day life. I lean into mindfulness and compassion to support me with day to day decisions, building stronger and more self aware relationships. Increasing my capacity for presence, acceptance and kindness of what is. This experience filters through within my coaching practice and informs how I support clients to set goals, reflect and work towards the changes they are inspired to create in their lives.

I teach from a place of personal experience knowing the impact first hand of coaching and mindfulness practices on our lives. I love to communicate and share what i have learnt with others and support them on their personal and collective journeys to bring the wisdom and science of these practices alive in their own lives.
