Compassion
What do I offer?
I am trained by the Mindfulness Association which is a UK based Mindfulness and Compassion Training organisation. I am a member of the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA). To undertake training in compassion training we ensure that first of all participants have a good understanding of mindfulness training and practices within mindfulness training. You can think of it like a house the foundations of mindfulness are necessary to support the structure of compassion.
I offer 8 week training opportunities or tailor made programs to suit your schedule and interests.
Some of the areas we explore within compassion training are:
We build on our mindfulness practice by integrating the qualities of self compassion into our core mediation practice
We contextualise this practice within the evolutionary model of compassion, that is grounded in neuroscience and psychology
We dive into the understanding that the habits of mind which challenge us are not ‘our fault’ but a shared human condition
We identify the compassionate qualities that can enhance our lives and introduce the knowledge that through specific practices we can grow these qualities within ourselves
We lean into guided compassionate imagery practices - that bring to life the qualities we are cultivating.
We start to build a relationship with our inner critic or voice in our mind which tends to criticise and critique what we do
Not only do we focus on how to be kinder to ourselves but also to others
We explore the four limitless qualities of equanimity, love, compassion and joy which can support us on this journey
We learn how to grow a kinder, more loving and more supportive inner voice
We use real life challenges and experiences to embody and practice the characteristics of compassion and the growth of this new and move loving inner voice.
